General
Q: Is there also a version for iPhone?
A: Not at the moment. Depending on the number of Redikhet users on Android, it may be decided to release an iPhone version, but this is not yet the case.
User Interface
Q: Why can't I delete an item via the trash icon at the top right (which is disabled)?
A: You can only delete an item if there are no more child items or relationships to other items. Also, be aware of any income items that are dependent on the death of another person.
Forecast calculation
Q: Assets are added and yet the end date forecast is (much) lower. How is that possible?
A: The final balance of each year, so after adding up all income and expenditure of a person, yields according to a weighted percentage of all assets that are registered with a person. If the newly added assets pull down the weighted average yield, for example due to a changed ratio of savings and investments, then this ultimately results in a lower forecast at the end date.
Q: The cost and income lines in the graph show a lower value for the current year than expected. The following years are in line with expectations, is this correct?
A: This is in accordance with the design. The costs and income incurred at the beginning of the current year are assumed to have already been discounted in the current state of the assets. For example, halfway through the current year, it is assumed that only half of the planned annual costs and income will change on the assets. The first half has already been processed in the balance of the assets, provided that it has been sufficiently updated by the user.
Q: How can the unit level yield change if I only move the same power with the same yield from Person A to Person B?
A: The return at unit level is a weighted average of all underlying persons over the entire term. For example, if the assets of person A are twice as high as those of person B in a given year, then the return of person A also weighs twice as heavily in that year. Also due to the compound interest effect, the assets of one person can grow or decrease faster than the other person, with an impact on the mutual weighting of the returns.
Q: How is it possible that with the update of the historical data of returns and price indexation there is a huge impact on the final capital?
A: Inherent to the compound interest effect, only a small difference in a percentage can make a big difference in the very long term. In the case of price indexation, the (one-off) transition from CBS to Eurostat data will show a difference because the composition of the basket of goods and services on which both indices are based differs. The transition to Eurostat data makes mutual comparison between countries easier.
Database
Q: How can I transfer the Redikhet database to another device?
A: The only option at the moment is to use Google Backup. This must also be activated on the original device. Check in Google Drive if there is a recent backup of Redikhet. Your account must then be newly added on the other device. The standard Android setup process then provides the option to restore a backup of your Google Drive including the Redikhet database. In order to unlock the database, you will be asked for the encryption key at startup, which can be found in the settings menu of Redikhet on the original device. Without this key, recovery is no longer possible.
Q: Why am I being asked for the encryption key after uninstalling and reinstalling on the same device?
A: In that case, there was once a Google Backup version stored that is automatically restored upon reinstallation. The encryption key is not stored in the restored database and must be re-entered. If this is not desirable, you have the option to reset the database.
